What is the Midwifery Care?  The Midwives Model of Care includes: monitoring the physical, psychological and social well-being of the pregnant person throughout the childbearing cycle. Providing them with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support. The midwifery model of care has advantages for many people because it avoids unnecessary interventions during labor, thus helping the process remain normal because it addresses needs that are often not adequately met by the medical management model. Worldwide, Midwives are relied on to care for healthy people carrying healthy babies experiencing uncomplicated pregnancies.

Do you do water birth?  Of course!  There are many advantages to laboring and even delivery in water.

Who can be at my birth?  You can have as many support people as you would like at your birth.  I believe family involvement is important during this momentous time.

How do I get my child a birth certificate?  I will file a birth certificate for the child as well as request a social security number.

What if my husband wants to catch the baby?  This is YOUR baby and YOUR birth!  I love when the fathers are the first ones to touch the baby.  Even YOU can be the one who catches your baby.

Can you deliver a breech baby or twins?  No.  The State of Montana does not allow me to deliver breech babies or twins.

What if I have had a prior caesarean section?  Just because you have had a previous caesarean does not mean that you can’t have a vaginal birth.  VBACs (vaginal birth after caesarean) are some of my favorite births to attend.

How far do you travel?  I travel up to 140 mile radius from Yellowstone County.

What if two woman are in labor at the same time?  This rarely happens, but if it does, I do have a backup midwife who could attend to the other woman.
